Kleinmond VGK Bazaar Returns 2nd and 3rd October 2026: A Weekend of Fun, Family and Community Spirit and Go-Kart Racing
Kleinmond is getting ready for a weekend filled with fun, food, laughter and plenty of community spirit as the Verenigde Gereformeerde Kerk (VGK) in Kleinmond hosts its much-anticipated Bazaar on Friday, 2 October, and Saturday, 3 October.
Organised by Carl Swart, the event is being held as a fundraiser for the VGK and promises something for everyone. From delicious food and sweet treats to games, water slides and an exciting homemade go-kart, or “kaskarre”, race, residents and visitors can look forward to two days of entertainment and family-friendly activities.
The event will kick off on the evening of Friday, 2 October, when the church grounds will come alive with a traditional Bazaar atmosphere. Families, friends and members of the community are invited to come along, enjoy the evening and support the fundraising effort.
Friday Evening: Fun for Young and Old
Friday night’s Bazaar will offer plenty to keep children and adults entertained. Young visitors can enjoy a jumping castle and water slides, providing hours of fun for children while parents and families take in the lively atmosphere.
Of course, no Bazaar would be complete without plenty of good food. Visitors can look forward to BBQ chicken, cakes, treats and much more, making it a great opportunity to enjoy a meal with family and friends while supporting an important local cause.
The organisers are also planning a game night for children and parents, adding an extra element of fun to the Friday evening programme. The fun continues on Saturday morning, 3 October, from 09:00 until 13:00, with one of the most exciting attractions of the weekend — the homemade go-kart or “kaskarre” race.
For those unfamiliar with the concept, a kaskar is a homemade racing cart, often built from whatever materials and creative ideas participants can come up with. The result is a fun-filled competition where imagination, teamwork and a little bit of racing skill all come into play.
Teams can enter the race for just R50 per team of three people, making it an affordable activity for families, friends, colleagues and groups of enthusiastic participants.
And there is more than just bragging rights at stake.
Great Prizes and Local Recognition
