Overstrand Municipality Release the IDP for 2025
The Overstrand Municipality has released the Draft Integrated Development Plan (IDP) for the 2025/26 financial year, outlining strategic priorities for the region, including Hermanus. This draft was tabled at a Special Council Meeting on 31 March 2025 and is currently open for public comment until 6 May 2025.

The IDP serves as a roadmap for the municipality’s development initiatives. While specific project details are outlined in the full document, the plan focuses on:

Public Participation
Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to review the draft IDP and provide feedback. Comments can be submitted via email to rlouw@overstrand.gov.za. For those unable to submit written comments, assistance is available at the offices of the Public Liaison Managers in Gansbaai/Stanford, Hermanus, and Kleinmond during office hours.
Additionally, a series of public meetings are being held across the Overstrand region from 7 to 22 April 2025 to discuss the draft IDP and budget. These meetings provide an opportunity for community members to engage directly with municipal officials and voice their opinions.
